Exploring the world of VR at Apposable Games in Bristol, testing the TiltBrush by Google! Can’t wait for this to shake up the creative industry when it’s released.

Myself, another colleague, and Bristol based agency Work Brands visited glausashire uni to run a day-long hackathon including a short brief, with the prize to win an internship. The purpose of the day was to inform, inspire, and engage with students whilst sharing skills and insights along the way.

We also discussed the importance of designing for small spaces and different platforms.

Quote of the day from one student: “if it didn’t go on instagram, did it even happen?”

Contributing to the YCN awards was a great experience. Helping Chris Armitage land his first design role in London was definitely a highlight! Whilst in the city, we visited a number of creative agencies including DixonBaxi and the in-house team at Innocent smoothies, where I left feeling super inspired/ refreshed..

It was an honour to run a session and interview students at this years D&AD. Our subject was titled ‘Instagram VS the designer’ and involved industry experts including Niran Vinod, a creative strategist from Instagram. Again, blown away by the level of work from the students. Every year the bar seems to be raised!

D&AD, in my opinion, is the Roles Royce of design events!

The Met Office were fortunate enough to run a fringe event along side D&AD’s New Blood called Design Storm; where students were able to join sessions hosted by industry experts and creative specialists.

Being asked to be included in D&AD’s portfolio surgery was an absolute honour! I seen some unforgettable pieces of work and met some industry hungry students!

The Virtual Reality World Congress in Bristol was a real eye opener and an awesome insight into what’s happening in the world of VR, where it’s going, and who the major players in the game are!

Great two days at the V&A for The London Design Festival!

Not only were the sessions well structured and informative at Mozfest 2015, but the general vibe and enthusiasm from other creatives left me feeling hugely inspired. I also learnt the basics of how the Fly Through Weather augmented reality application was built (from the Met Office) — which is always a plus for someone working on the design. The staff were great too! Help was on hand whenever needed and with a constant supply of instant coffee, my lust for caffeine was always met. Roll on Mozfest 2016!
